Lol not one Vitor in this thread shows what you guys know about the history of mma. Royce, Anderson, and all of the other great brazilians made mma look like a cool sideshow for dudes who are kind of weird. Vitor made that entire country--arguably the greatest country in mma--see mma fighters as superstars.

Anderson used to talk about it in interviews all the time, it bothered him that Brazil wasn't that interested in him compared to Vitor. Obviously this all changed after they fought, but leading up to that fight Brazil was overwhelmingly behind Vitor.

The man created an entire generation of fighters.

Also Fedor

vitor sucks when he isn't roided to the guills. he always has. no one in mma respects him

what is with the "he never defended the belt" schtick. as if some random can will legitimize his champion status where ko'ing someone undefeated for ten years didn't

plus he did defend

he defended vs aldo after winning belt vs chad

aldo was stripped of his belt after pulling out with a sore rib

Brock Lesnar
Rhonda Rousey
GSP
Conor McGregor

From a financial standpoint, these 4 brought in a shit ton of cash. Not to mention all the fans they created.

Alistair Overeem -> only man to ever hold a major mma belt while winning the K1 GP. - the only reasl dual sport champion.

Fedor Emilianenko -> Best HW title reight ever and it's not even close and most likely will never be broken (given how HW can be decided with a single punch vs pretty much anyone).

Wanderlei Silva -> Second best run in the sport behind Fedor - and a true savage - most violent fighter in combat sports - ever.

Cristiane Justino -> Most dominant female mma fighter ever and will most likely remain that until she retires.

Germaine De Randamie -> unbeaten Dutch kickboxer (so unlike those American ones - you know she actually fought real competition) easily beats the girl that knocked Rhonda dead - with very little actual mma knowledge.

Gegard Mousasi will find his way to Mt Rushmore as well so that's my honorable mention.
