Strikingis definitely where he is best but go rewatch silva vs sonnen one. The triangle he threw on him was quick, calculated and textbook. His jiu-jitsu is legit and im sure should a fight between gsp and silva ever manage to happen, gsp would be thinking about it every time he takes silva down

to be fair gsp is miles ahead of sonnen

gsp should be better due to spending more of his career on the ground

thats not just fair it's fact... chael sonnen has gone on the record and said that when he sparred with GSP he got clapped in every discipline of the sport

Not only that but he is said GSP was far stronger than him and sonnen was out weighing him by a solid 20lbs.
Silva has decent takedown defense but i dont think it would be enough to stop gsp all night long. I would think once he gets silva down it would be a chess match with gsp trying to open him up with gnp. Just a matter of who makes a mistake first

I don't think it would be close anymore. Like 10 years ago it would have been insane based on silvas striking. But he's not that guy anymore. I see it an easy 5-0 for Gsp.

Im not holding my breath for the fight but I cant help but still wonder even after all these years
