At this point he has half a billion dollars and has been cageside for a few thousand fights. The man is personally responsible for the occurrence of half of the greatest fights in history, ofcourse he doesn’t believe the hype. The glory days are over and everyone who’s been here for as long as dana knows it.
The fact that we have someone who can even be judged for being untruthful rather than some rat fuck in a suit is a god damn blessing. Dana is a liar and an asshole but atleast he gives a fuck about mma, it makes up most of his personality and when he’s gone we’ll hearken to these days.
Just a bunch of nostalgia bullshit lol. The sport might not be growing at the rate it once was but everybody knew it couldn't rapidly grow forever. It's pretty well balanced out now and isn't anywhere close to dying. As legends fall, new faces pop up to replace them. For a lot of us, it might've been the "glory days" of mma for us as individuals, but doesn't mean the sport is going anywhere. When the time comes for Dana to step down, somebody will replace him.
I will agree with everything you said on Dana tho. It's hard to stay passionate about something this long. Guy truly put blood, sweat, and tears into this sport and the organization and is the main reason MMA is where it is today.
