As for the American fan base, I seriously doubt he's doing for Aldo (or Mendes) what Shale Sonnen did for Anderson.
Now take in account the ridulous amount of money they already spent on Conor both to his person and marketing wise... I will actually say he is costing the ufc money right now.

Aldo would've became a good draw if he beat mcgregor

Mcgregor vs siver did good and that was a fight night, but it got A LOT of attention

Mcgregor vs Dustin did amazing, given that had cerrone vs alvarez on it which was a big fight

Mcgregor has so much attention on him though and will easily pull ppv draws on his own in title fights

Because people seem to care more about the drama surrounding a fight than the actual skills/legacy of the fighter involved.
