He can't even read the lines let alone between them.
I hope Conor wins this fight, this division and the UFC will take a huge hit if Mendes does indeed win. Any Aldo fan should want Conor to win this realistically. I'd love to see the look on Danas face when Conor loses though... Would love to see so many things with each outcome :D
If Mendes can get takedowns in this fight, that will drastically change Conors striking approach and the dynamics of the fight change.. Mendes takedowns rely mostly on his explosive double leg.. Every wrestler utilizes different takedowns, but that seems to be mendes trademark.. It will really come down to if Conor can stop those AND punish them.... We just seen a fight with DC vs AJ where AJ was able to stop the takedowns quite well, but couldn't punish and with him not being able to punish he wore himself out and ended up losing the fight...
THe thing is , Mendes has the ability to completely DESTROY Conor and Conor can win making it look easy. Conor isn't going to be in fights the rest of his career making it look easy, I can guarantee that. His first tough or close fight will be interesting for sure.
I for one think his BJJ is good and his wrestling I have a feeling about being pretty good as well.. His wrestling coach he's been working with for 7 years has quite a resume on him.
I really feel like Mendes level changes win this fight for him... Whether it be feints or going in for a takedown.. The single leg will be there all day for him due to Conors stance. We'll see how good his balance is in that situation.
e/ Curious to see Conors chin too. It hasn't really been tested, that's a huge factor. I'd imagine it'd be pretty good with his style. Mendes has a decent chin, not perfect but its pretty good...
Do you not understand how well Conor controls distance? And how good he is at striking while moving backwards.
I want him to win so bad.. The next press tour will be so insane if Mcgregor has the interim belt..
