Wanderlei vs sonnen and the dc/Cormier brawl in August

Both were obviously scripted, and considering how much promotion material they made out if these, it's obvious Dana was happy, no matter how much he repeated he's disappointed at their lack of professionalism.

I don't think either was scripted. Chael vs. Wanderlei made the Brazilian team look bad and DC threw his shoe lol. Those aren't things that anyone thinks are a good idea in hindsight, it's heat of the moment shit.

Plus Chael and Jones were on top--both were already the favourites. If you're going to script a little brawl to hype a fight you're going to want the underdog to look better in it.

The fact that jones and dc did it during a stare down over something little makes me dislike them a little more apposed to chaels situation

All reality TV is scripted, across every channel, so the sonnen brawl happening on reality TV isn't really an argument for me.

I guess I just don't have faith in anyone's honesty nowadays, even less so people whose living depends on ratings

Reality TV is having people who know they're on camera put into completely fabricated situations and seeing their reactions. Obviously they aren't completely real reactions because they know they're on camera and the situation itself isn't realistic, but to say that all of the reactions are scripted is just silly. What's the point? You have to hire the writers--who must be paid and accredited complicit to the Writers Guild of America's standards. And then what? We get hours and hours of well-written, witty, interesting reality tv?

I don't know which reality tv shows you've been watching, but that's not what I see when I watch reality tv. I see stupid people acting stupidly, for the most part. And you can look into the lives of some of the people on some of these shows, you can see that their real lives are pretty much as retarded as they are on the show.

Check out The Flavor of Love. It's like the bachelor except the bachelor is Flavor Flav. Funniest show ever, obviously these bitches are put in crazy situations that are going to start fights, but you can't script a lot of the retarded fights they had. If 80 year old Flavor Flav could keep making seasons of that I would watch it until he died, that shit is fucking gold.


I'm not saying none of it is scripted, but most of it definitely is not. If you aren't retarded, you can tell when a bad actor is acting. Most of the people on the reality shows I've seen are either good actors--which is extremely unlikely--or they're just doing what they think they should do in those situations.

I'm. Not saying everything happening is scripted to the line, I'm saying they all tell their "stars" what to do for the big stuff.

Jones made 500k as a base salary to his fight... That was guaranteed money. He also has a % of the PPV buys on its way. And at the presser Dana said they were already above 750k and could be trending towards 7 figures.... Thats another few 100ks to go along with his money.

He also won 50k more for having the fight of the night.
