In all fairness khabib toyed with iaquinta, he fought the best fight of his life and had a flawless gameplan vs conor. The whole "hehe xd khabib outstruck conor" shows complete ignorance for the sport. Khabib landed 1 big shot when he faked the takedown and came up with a Haymaker.
With that said, a rematch isn't going to go any differently. Conor was forced to fight with his hips back so he couldn't get comfortable or put too much power on his striking since the threat with the takedown was so high. This isn't going to change in the rematch.
Khabib's gameplan was solid though coming out with the ankle pick, we've seen in the past where solid grapplers respect conor's power too much to shoot early and try to stand with him too long which allows him to get his range and rhythm down then it becomes much more difficult to take him down as he becomes more dangerous. Khabib didn't risk that and got the pressure on him immediately
well i think ppl are saying khabib out struck conor because even besides the overhand right, he landed some nice jabs and right hands later on as well. at the same time, avoiding conors strikes effortlessly. conor is usually very accurate with his strikes but none of it was landing. khabib had suprisingly good knowledge of distance and knew where he could and could not be hit and would easily avoid conors power punch/kicks
but obviously that doesnt mean khabib is a better striker than conor as some khabib fans like to imply (if they believe that theyre dumb) lol. like u said conor most likely couldnt strike efficiently due to the worry of takedowns. but yea i pretty much agree with the rematch thing. its not like the diaz fight where conor seemed to be doing ok and then got tired and rocked later on. khabib dominated the whole fight. i see a rematch going pretty much the same way
