I call bullshit on this one. I do think he'll stick to his strengths, but Kron isn't the type of guy to not be training his judo / wrestling in preparation of a fight. Getting the match down is part of jiu jitsu. Kron is much smarter then that. Rickson is Rickson, he would say that.

I dont agree. I think it is great for everyone. Only because they get 20% of sales of their specific clothes. Thats a huge percentage that I dont see any other retailer matching WHILE also giving money per fight to the same fighter based on how good he is. It will also help out the lesser known fighters.

But, did I miss the part in there where they said prefight shit is banned at all? Like banners and shit?

e: found it

Fighters will still be allowed to carry additional non-UFC sponsors under the program, however those sponsors may not be on display for any UFC-designated fight week events, which includes open workouts, media days, press conferences, weigh-ins, and fight nights -- a wrinkle that effectively brings an end to the tradition of fight night banners.

That makes sense.

It's based on the rankings tho, not on how good they are... I'm assuming that means the media rankings, which are kind of a joke alone, but the UFC has been known to remove fighters from the top 10 rankings out of spite, which creates an obvious problem when they're tied to income.

If Reebok doesn't redesign the shitty UFC gloves this is complete garbage from a fan's standpoint. Fuckin Fertitas and Dana. If they want a seminal moment they should change to 10 minute rounds, fix their gloves, get rid of the 12-6 elbow rule and put a fucking camera on the ref. Instead of making the sport better their seminal moment is to get costumes lol...

Joe rogan and rory Macdonald discussed ufc getting the bellator gloves because you can close your fist easier for less eye pokes

And agreed with ref cam / 12-6 shit
I also wish they judged based on the whole fight..(keep rounds for breaks)
Example :
Hendricks vs lawler
round 1 hendricks wins 25 to 20 strikes landed
same with round 2 / 3

So hendricks up by 3 rounds by a total of 15 more strikes landed
theb lawler comes out in 4th and lands 50 more strikes than hendricks then 5th round lands 50 more strikes again
but hendricks wins 3-2 still those type of fights kind of annoy me
plenty of times where people barely win first 2 then get destroyed in 3rd but still get win

They need to make 10-8 and 10-7 rounds more realistic. Its retarded that they dont.

The top fighters that would suffer dont really move too much from the top 5. I only know of one case where a fighter was removed and that was garbage but it was made right when he signed his new contract.

But I agree with the rest. They need the gloves fixed 5 years ago and they dont do shit about it.

I personally dont care for the elbow rule, but I would rather see other shit done then change that first, personally.

Jds will still make his money in Brazil.

I just don't see mightymouse suffering because of this. Yea hes good but that doesn't mean sponsors want to be on him. He still sells nothing in terms of ppv and this is great for him in that regard. He's the champ so he will make his money

e. They are still allowed all sponsorships except on their clothing and the week leading up to the fight.

I don't get how your edit is relevant... lol they're allowed to show sponsors at all of the times when a sponsor does not give a fuck if you're showing their sponsorship.

Pretty sure Burger King isn't paying Anderson to wear these at night:

The gloves are fine, the guys can close their hands just fine when trying to grapple. The problem isn't the gloves, it's the rules and how they're enforced.

Make it a, loss by disqualification if a fight is stopped due to an eye poke, I guarantee eye pokes will disappear entirely and no one will talk about the gloves anymore.
