Dan Hooker saying that Makhachev cheated and rehydrated with an IV

Interested to see where this goes, fighters probably do it more than we know

You should be allowed to rehydrate with Iv. the problem is that it can be used to cover ped use too. It's banned in all sports under USADA for this reason, but it's a bad solution for sports with weight cutting.

I imagine most fighters who cut big are still doing it anyway, it's pretty easy to hide

Makhachev should sue him for slander.

Where's the proof?

Apparently Dan Hooker>USADA

Also Makhachev looked like shit in the last round. I doubt he would with an IV.

That's not how slander works.

And like I said, it's easy to hide IV use from USADA.

Makhachev looked kinda bad in general I thought. He had a tough weight cut apparently. With a better cut and Khabib cageside, I still have him in the rematch.

Makhachev looked for his corner while he was on top. I was thinking no Khabib to tell you what to do. I was surprised he was so gassed. it's not like the pace was crazy high.

Slander: the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation....

No, I'm not from California. This man's lively hood is based on people watching him fight. Him being accused of cheating hurts his reputation. Which in turn affects his income. This is a big deal to me but maybe no one else cares. We will see.

That is a correct definition of slander, but your understanding of how a slander case works is wrong.

The burden of proof for slander is on the plaintiff.

This means that Dan Hooker doesn't have to prove that Makhachev used an IV to rehydrate, Makhachev has to prove that he DIDN'T in order to successfully sue him, which is virtually impossible.

He also has to prove that the claims harmed him, which they won't and that Dan Hooker knew that the claims were false, which he almost certainly didn't.

None of the elements of a successful slander case are present. It doesn't matter how big of a deal this is to you or any of us, that's not how the law works.

Ali stick his foot in his mouth more than anyone else. It's so comical to believe Islam is the p4p king and that was his first title defense and Alexander made him look human.
