That special privilege you're talking about isn't just happening to Conor. Dillashaw was offered the chance to fight DJ. Cormier is fighting Stipe. GSP fought Bisping. Max was gonna fight Khabib

If you're at the top of your weight class then I don't see a problem with allowing people to challenge for other belts.

If anything GSP fighting Bisping was the least deserving of them all, since he was out for so long. I ain't saying he shouldn't of got the fight with Bisping, he definitely deserved the offer he was given.
