Says “Poirier is unquestionably the more skilled fighter”

I found that intriguing, I have never been high on Poirier. What am I missing?

I've never been big on peahead either. not sure what everyone sees in him

Its more about the fact gaethje isnt very good

He was a sloppy zombie with a good chin and that was all he had, until alvarez cracked it

Solid well rounded fighter. I don't think anyone thinks he's some uncrowned champ, but apart from his chin he has few weaknesses. On the flip side of that though he has no ace up his sleeve like khalabib's wrestling or tony's unpredictability/bjj, or conor's left hand. But his overall ability makes him relevant in almost any matchup in the division. Gaethje hasn't honestly showed anything to imply he's more skilled, he has insane heart and a fighting style that capitalizes on it. Within the first few minutes MJ found and exploited a huge technical weakness in his ducking/turtling then exploding leaving him open for upper cuts, but mj didn't have the grit to finish it like Edward.

e/ I just kinda got what you meant, Eddie said a very similar thing in that interview, that Gaethje has heart and toughness that Poirier doesn’t have, but it’s just confusing. Can’t wait for the fight though.
