i don't like that fight ... kind of a bad matchup for condit and not exactly a stadium seller fight. JORTC nerd vs goth nerd -shrugs-

Definitely not a big seller for a return fight, but I bet condit is excited for the challenge. Thats another thing I dig about Condit. He gets hyped up for a challenge. No padded career for that guy

You can't defend an interim belt. That (interim) belt means nothing until you beat and take off his hands the title holder but GSP was off for a long recovery (knee surgery)

you can defend an interim belt if you will lose the interim belt if you will not defend it

aldo never owned a real belt. they were all handed to him not earned

interim means you are holding the number 1 contender waiting the champ to comeback.
Its just a stupid concept that Zuffa created to make more money.
The intrim champ is not the champ, he's the next one who get a title shot upon the champ's return

Interesting concept, if we are truly going by the books does any championship except HW have any meaning? The first UFC was open weight no holds barred. The 155 title was a creation of Zuffa, they let Jens Pulver fight Cal Uono for a made up belt that now is in Conor McGregor's possesion. So does it really have any value? Jose Aldo at least won his by defeating Mike Brown the current FTW champion at the time who had beaten the former champion etc. etc. And then was promoted to UFC champion when WEC fell apart.

And basically if you really wanna break it down, Zuffa created the UFC LW division just like they did the FTW division. They saw the potential and swooped on it. So I kinda disagree.

aldo was the WEC champ no doubt

so Conor never beat the real UFC champ, he grab the strap out of the WEC champ
