I knew what you were trying to say.
Soldiers get promoted more on their achievements then they do actual time spent in service. Perhaps that particular major earned the rank slowly.
Depend where you start.
I am a direct entry which mean, when I enlisted, I had already my university Master degree and had my boot camp designed for officers and during the 13 weeks offircer training boot camp, I wear the officer cadet rank but upon the completion of the training I recieved my commissioned which mean I got the rank Captain and 9 years later got promoted to my current rank.
I am thinking to stay 10 more years in the service if everything goes as my plan. With a little chance, I might move up to Lieutenant Colonel
So far, 3 decoration medals. from left to right: my SWASM (south west asian service medal) for my tour in persian gulf while serving with the Royal Canadian Navy, the GSM (General service medal) for my tour in Afghanistan, in the support element theatre, my CD (canadian decoration) for 12 years of service,

Now irespect, can you post something from your pedigree (so far we know you have no words and no honour you little wiseal welcher) so we can have a little oz of respect for you
