I've never seen punching backwards on someone on the back do significant dmg, cant get any power but i think Islam were almost just as bothered by the position they were in by those repetitive little shots, since he never got close to a threatening attempt of a choke either eating fist after fist by volk and mostly was just there like a large backpack.. .I'm praising volkanovski for the performance even if both deserve all praise but so many said/thought Islam would just run through him.. I thought or hoped it would play out something like it did hearing volks preparations and tactical reasoning etc before it all so I got so hyped up watching it play out haha
even with a loss imo this will be seen as a win for him among the people I think, he certainly raised higher even in the mma world through this fight... hope both did, gotta watch the presser
