lol the illuminati exists...  whether or not they(there are various groups which claim to be linked to the original illumati, which may or may not be linked to each other and/or more politically prominent and secretive organizations) have any clout in world politics is the only question.

And obviously they aren't alien lizard people, probably.

The Illuminati was founded as an anti-religious group that promoted common rights between men and women of all races in the late 1700s.

As part of the FreeMasons, yeah.
They're actually mentioned in War and Peace (which I'm reading atm).

But Illuminati as in a Zeitgeisty NWO Lizardoverlords... Nawwww

Freemasons are in War and Peace, because that guy uhhh fuck I can't remember his first name, count Bolkonsky's(sp) son joins them, but the illuminati isn't mentioned, right?

The original illuminati was founded in Germany over 600 years after the order of rebirth in sion(which famously branched off into the knights templar, freemasonry, etc) was founded in or around Jerusalem. I don't think the illuminati had anything to do with freemasonry, mostly based on the fact that freemasonry is a religion and the illumati was an anti-religious institution.

I'm about halfway in.
Andrew Bolkonski doesn't join the freemasons (yet).

It's Pierre Behzukov (sp?) that joins the FreeMasons. The Illuminati are mentioned, but only in passing, when Pierre is mentally describing his fellow Masons in differing categories.

edit: ah, i misremembered.
they are mentioned, but not as a subgroup of the Masons. But indeed as an opposing idea.

ohhh that's right, it's Pierre because he's trying to help his serfs(or non-serfs, whatever the case may be, I don't remember) right?

That's a good book that I should probably read again. Have you read Dostoevsky?

In other UFC news: Bisping opened as a 2-1 underdog vs rockhold...

I think Rockhold takes it but that's kinda crazy, right? Will bet on Bisping.

Why is that crazy? Bisping is the ultimate can crusher but that's it. Rockhold is going to get an easy pay check that night by beating the breaks off of him.

I think Rockhold is better at everything except boxing, and he's looked impressive lately. Still not sure he deserves these odds though, I mean are you going to throw money on him at -327? Looks like a bad bet imo although I do think it's more likely that he wins.

Well, the reasons he joins the Freemasons are myriad. It's only after he joined that he decides to help his serfs (which he doesn't really succeed in).

As a work of literature, it's impressive. As a take on historical storytelling, it's pretty good as well.
As an actual story, it's boring as fuck. I'm struggling to keep reading, especially when Mary Bezukhov or Natascha Rostov are prominent. I hate those bitches :D

I read The Brothers Karamazov about a year ago. I think it's a much better book than War and Peace.
