No. There are no belts more prestigious than the ufc belt. K1, strikeforce, Pride, all of them are worth less in all of life than the UFC belt. Ufc champ means something you tell someone you're a K1 champ and they look at you like you're retarded
In America yes.
In Europe and Asia K1 was always regarded higher.
MMA/UFC gaining a lot in popularity now, especially with a guy like Conor.
But for example Rico Verhoeven and Remy Bonjasky are celebrities and on Dutch tv regularly.
Overeem was on Dutch tv a bunch of times after he beat Badr Hari and also when he won the K1.
Before that no1 really paid attention and afterwards same story really, even him beating Brock Lesnar for example meant little to nothing to anyone here... but in America it's the opposite.
Glory also made a big mistake catering towards the American public and lowering the level of skill in tournaments so their could be American champs.
That's why they deadass broke now and basically only got Rico left... couldn't afford Saki - Spong anymore for example.
K1 championship also means you're a giant celebrity in Asia - Japan especially.
Overeem is so big there due to K1 - not PRIDE, not DREAM and not UFC.
