Bryce is awesome. How about that post fight speech? Guy only makes 45/45 (which is a robbery considering his ranking) and he says he is giving 45k of it to a children's foundation. That's money he could use to help his family and help with paying his coaches, but instead he uses it for something much bigger than himself.

happy to see dana step in hopefully it will be issued from UFC yet give bryce mitchell the credit he deserves for bringing this to light

make it as bryce has donated, pure class but that farm shit wont cut it for the top 10. Pray someone in that team is smart enough to invest into some training coaches or anything to improve because that tough grapping style will get exposed by these Russians/better grapplers with finish potential.

Great guy tho seems impossible not to like

could be the future division gatekeeper nothing wrong with that every division needs one or two at least.

Yeah, reminds me of Sean Brady a bit in the way they fight and where they are at in their careers. Both could potentially be Elite w/ adequate improvements in striking and coaching.

There’s always room for improvement until you’re champ, but from what I saw, Bryce’s striking looked good. Now, he doesn’t really have any knockout power, but he knocked down Barbosa at 272 when he landed a clean right hook right on the chin in the first. That has to say something! Not only could he stand and trade with a notorious striker like Barbosa, he basically out-struck him!

Sean Brady and Bryce Mitchell are great examples of how good wrestling can do wonders for positioning and control that can open up submission opportunities and ground strikes. Bryce could be the next Colby Covington with a (thug) nasty submission game. Wrestling and volume are there, but does his chin hold up? Can he keep the fight on the ground during the majority of his fights? Time will tell.

The difference between Sean Brady and Bryce Mitchell though could be Sean’s chin. At the end of the Chiesa vs Brady fight, he almost got knocked out in round 3 when he let him up and was saved by the final whistle. The mma community will surely keep a close eye on these guys as they take on more fights.

He also expertly hid the punch and landed really cleanly through a small opening in Barbosa's guard. Even if it he doesn't have incredible 1 hit-quit power, just landing a clean shot is all someone with his wrestling needs to smoother your ass.

Well said! I definitely think he can get up in the rankings if he continues to execute his game plan the way he did against Barbosa. I wonder who he will fight next

When you have devastating grappling, strikers get so concerned with stopping the takedown they leave themselves open to strikes. Even Khabib put Connor on his ass with a nasty looping punch. Level changes :D
