smart move from Ward. He's rich and from the olympic gold medalist, super six tournement and 2 wins over the long time feared punchers Kovalev.
Undefeated

33 yo a bit young but thats a sport where you can leave your health so I respect his decision. He was a great champ, another super talented boxer thats only a few per generation like that

As much as I love seeing this, it's not the case. I think Ward would beat Golovkin pretty handily. If Golovkin had a slightly bigger frame and if this was a few years ago, then I'd say it's almost a pick-em but Golovkin would probably KO Ward. Ward can take a hit and his career makes a pretty good case for his abilities.

Ward could have stayed longer at least 3-4 more years and dominate the division and leave a stronger legacy. The guy has other priorities in life and its the end for boxing.
One smart guy who knows when its time to retire.
GGG would never win vs Ward. Ward is too big for him, faster and hit hard too, long reach, no match for sure.

I have to believe he is using this as a negotiating tactic. I believe his contract is up and is trying to drive prices up between either showtime or HBO for PPV contracts. He's too young and good to be done forever i think.
