Circumstances beyond anyone’s control created this matchup. Chandler was getting booked to fight Gaethje in a non title fight, would have been amazing. But then Khabib relinquished the belt and the UFC scrambled to put something together. And I think it was ^KrWWW that pointed it out in the other thread, Gaethje got pulled for Oliviera most likely because he has a loss to Khabib already, same with Poirier. Chandler and Oliviera are top two ranked guys without losses to Khabib recently.
