It's hard to believe it's been a little over 30 years since then!

I remember crying as a little kid and wanting to sell my Nintendo because I loved the video game Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!

Relive Buster Douglas' 10th-round knockout of then-unbeaten “Iron” Mike Tyson in their heavyweight title fight in Tokyo, Japan, on February 11, 1990. Douglas’ win is considered one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.

Tyson was on a party and didn't take Douglas seriously. Also, when Douglas went down earlier in the fight, Ref could've count till 20.. Many people believed Don King was behind that defeat..
The biggest upset was vs Holyfield 1 in 1996.

Didn't Douglas' mom just die before the fight too? It was just the perfect storm of shit. Mike not taking him seriously and him being overly motivated to win.

It is considered one of the biggest upsets in history. The Holyfield fight was crazy, but this was more unexpected as he had never been beaten. This was a warm-up fight lol, Holyfield was still a huge under-dog, but the odds for Tyson v Douglas were almost double what they were for Tyson v Holyfield.

thats the thing, the odds were getting so unbalanced in Tyson favor that Don King struggle to sell Tyson fights and he wasn't pocketing as much money than before. He was on the party in Japan and Tyson was not prepared for a marathon and Don King needed this defeat to shake the division and getting more attention.

The Tyson who fought Holyfield was not the Prime Tyson but still a motivated one and Holyfield exposed his flaws like we never seen before.
This was not expected at all but the Douglas fight, most people knew it was coming. Tyson was too dominant and something needed to happen

Tyson changed when his coach died... how do you not bring up Constantine "Cus" D'Amato ?
