Who is the greatest featherweight of all time? I might have it:

1. McGregor*
2. Holloway
3. Aldo
4. Edgar
5. Penn*
6. Pulver?
7. Henderson?

I think Aldo's run is done (he's slowed down too much). He was devastatingly powerful.

Edgar would be the #1 all-time if he had a bigger frame. I think he went the wrong way by spending so much time at 155. 145 makes more sense to me, but I wish he'd tried his hand at 135. I would've enjoyed seeing him vs Cruz, prime v prime. 135 is stacked, too, and I wonder if he felt he'd lose his speed advantage there. Either way, I didn't like him at 155.

McGregor has been absent but I thought he was a really big featherweight, and that lightweight is more his size.

Holloway is a lanky, pure 145 and I think he's a true warrior. In terms of guys who were real 145ers, I think he's the #1 all-time. I wish he'd fought Aldo a bit earlier because then we'd know for sure.

Penn was a pure lightweight in my view, mostly because he was undisciplined in diet and training. I think he could've been among the greatest featherweights of all-time if he'd spent his time there early--hence including him here.

Jens Pulver was really good but he didn't defend long ... he just kind of vanished. What the h*ll happened to him anyway?

Henderson was really, really good. I think he had a really good frame for 145 but that he was capable of 155, too.

Guy who never defended his title once can be ranked GOAT of a division now?

Vote goes to Max "Dirty Sanchez" Holloway. He's on the best streak and is the Jon Jones of the division. It is what it is.

Conor isn't a 145 lb fighter, he won a single title and never defended it. You can't be a goat of a division you don't fight in, and one you had your title revoked because of inactivity. Conor is 155 and inactive. Plus the top 3 lws would beat conor by finish. If conor stayed at 145 and defended the title a few times he'd be in the mix with aldo and max. I'm not even sure conor could beat Holloway right now tbh.

I agree that Conor isn't a pure 145 but he beat Holloway and he was the champ. He also broke Aldo. Aldo was a dominant fighter when there was less competition. That's why I wish he'd fought Holloway sooner. Holloway may not have been ready but I thought he was great pretty early in his career.

Conor and Penn have asterisks because I don't 100% recognize them as 145s--and Penn looked like a fat, gassed old bastard at 145. But they have done some amazing things in their careers.

I'd like to see Holloway vs Conor II.
