actually this is a good question, i thought it did but i better get a blackhorns just in case it doesn't.

On NL my foh/smiter was easy mode against him. He does have pretty decent gear but nothing too crazy either. The first time he spawned I had to use my cta as my weapon while smiting him, it actually worked better than I expected.

You should be fine with 1 point in smite and fanaticism if you have a little gear.
