Yes, there is a way using your Windows Firewall, to narrow down the IP search of the whole group with 90%. Which means, finding the hot IP is the least of our problems

2.1 Since we have a solution to the biggest problem that no one addresses so far, we move to problem number two. Organizing the event.

Diablo Clone IP hunt starts once, we've acquired 120 SoJ (3 soj each, total of 40 people) Since my lovely wife, doesn't like the new game, I have a second laptop and copy of the game.
This will be used as a SoJ Depository room.
If IP Hunting starts at 8PM CST, SoJ gathering can start as soon as 5PM.
You can just come, drop your 2 SoJ and I'll write down the name/acc/tag in a public read-only Google Sheet, so all of you can keep track of what is going on. Fully Transparent!

3. I got my small charm, Diablo walked on the 100th SoJ, is EmptyFolder keeping the rest 20 ?
-No, remaining SoJs will be sold back to GROUP MEMBERS ONLY at a price of -150fg the average price of a SoJ at the moment. I make this in order to sell them fast, so I can also spend some time with my family too after the run.
Profits will be split among the members, while a small fee of 10% of those profits goes for the Leader.

Can vouch for this user but just two points to clarify:
1.- i had the best pvp fire sorc
2. he gets his amulets from me

20 games for most people
However there were people that took over 2 hrs to find the right game

What happens if say 28/30 people have found a game? Does the walk still happen?

30 min walk at a time when there is a 1min game creation cooldown?

If this is the Firewall method that my crew developed and tested over the last week, I hope you plan to give them credit.

where does the 30 minutes apply? im confused

Setting Outbound rules on your firewall is nice and all, but if the hot IP is saturated, the game will still try to place you in the least congested server, even if it's blocked in your rule. This results in a connection error and being unable to join the game for obvious reasons.

There's no way around it. You need to join as early as possible. The stragglers end up having to look for 2 hours. It's all fun and games for the first 20 and a gigantic pain in the ass for the remaining 20 lol.

Don't get me started on 60+ people walks.



Guarantee you this wasn't "developed" by your crew. It's something your networking layman can come up with with relative ease.

The point is, our group did this first and we've been openly sharing it. No other clone group was doing this before us, but many have been copying us ever since we started. Now maybe yall figured it out on your own, because you're a "networking layman." But if not, and you did indeed learn it from us, then it would be nice to have some credit.
