Make a game on NL and camp it, while holding NL sojs. It can be a norm game. Norm games work as soj sale games. Then wait for that IP to rotate to Ladder. It should take no more than about 6 hours for that IP to appear on Ladder.
That's it. That's the trick. That's how I walked a ladder clone, solo, with an investment of only 600fg. Just make a NL game and wait.
You're not gonna find the same IP on NL and L at same time. So it APPEARS that L and NL are still separate. However, if you camp a NL game, it will hold. Your NL game will stay up, even after the IP rotates to L.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything below ^ this line is just story time.
I'm not sure where to start. So much has happened the last 4 days... I'm pretty certain i'm one of the first people to walk a LADDER clone with NON-LADDER sojs, since they separated 3 years ago.
Some of you know I used to track IP rotation. I used to make predictions about when an IP would rotate from NL to L. Then I would sell those predictions to people and they would use NL sojs to prep, and then pop an IP when it rotated during predicted time. I stopped selling predictions and tracking IPs a few months ago. I got burned out. In those days, the IPs rotated very slowly. An IP would rotate to NL and stay there for 2 weeks sometimes. Other IPs liked to rotate quickly, and when I say quickly, I mean they would rotate a couple times within a week.
10 days ago, I decided to get back into tracking the IPs. I noticed that they're rotating much faster than last year. I detected just about every IP rotating once, some times twice, per DAY. I thought "huh, this is great, screw making predictions all together if they're all rotating daily now."
Last year, I couldnt walk my own because NL soj price was 20 to 25fg, and I couldnt afford that. 4 days ago, I check NL prices and they're 4fg to 5fg. So I buy 120 NL sojs.
IP 117 was my first successful prediction 18 months ago. 117 is my baby. So I hunt 117 on NL. Found a game at about 6:30am. Dumped 40 NL sojs on it, and figured it would rotate some time during business hours. I figured that, if/when 117 rotated, my NL game would drop, because that always seemed to happen last year.
I immediately start hunting for 117 on Ladder. At 10:30am, I found Ladder IP 117. I look at my other d2 screens and to my surprise, my NL 117 game had held. I freaked out. Double checked with netstat. Confirmed. Freaked out again. Jumped up and down yelling "THEY"RE LINKED AGAIN!" Wife looks at me like I'm crazy.
Several people are going to be mentioned from this point. Some of them have given me permission to name them here and have offered to vouch this thread. Some of them I havent heard back from yet, so I wont use their names until they give me permission.
After calming down a bit, I did 2 things. I immediately started planning the charity walk to get public free annis. Then I walked 117 at 1:05pm.
See the charity walk thread here:
https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=83581054&f=240I joined KickAssB1tch's group and we tried to recreate it. We walked 109 last night with NL sojs. Another friend re-walked IP 117 a few times with NL sojs. Credit to Kick and his group for discovering, as a team, that the IPs are rotating several times per day and not once per day.
However, the star is E_v@jsp. He went solo and walked IP 149 over 10 times in 3 days. Practically didnt sleep, because I told him that this hyper-rotation we're seeing isnt normal and the IPs could go back to rotating bi-weekly at any point.
In all, between Kick's group, E_v and my other friend, a metric F*** ton of unid anni have hit market in last 4 days. All walked with NL sojs.
Now, maybe someone already stumbled on this before me. Maybe I'm not the first to do it, but I discovered it on my own using only 1 home IP address, 4 cdkeys, and a ton of time.
Out of the 15 or so people that I told, I'm sure many other people already know, but I'm here to let jsp and the world know. Level the playing field.
A lot went down in the last 4 days and this post is already pretty long. So if any of you took the time to read all this and have questions, just lmk here.
Thanks for reading.
