I am not entirely sure what you mean, but if you're talking about getting a lvl1 character to Hell difficulty then yes, that is still possible.

maybe he means char non-stop running to prevent game drop out due to afk.
if so, yes, it still works, at least in act 5 stairs/chest and malah/tp and stairs/gate. not sure about act 1 fire/chest and act 2 fence/chest though...

Woodpile in Act 1 still works too. I use that one and the Act 5 stairs one myself.
