Yes, there was a walk on SCL, I've left game up and wasn't kicked so it was my first killed on my own DC on this ladder, blizzorb sorc 77 lvl, used act2 trick and took me while but still 18/12/8, could be worse

act 2 trick?
I am using a blizz orb too, but i just rip him at frigid without a merc.
Using full tals sorc

Act 2 trick- go to arcane sanctuary. Take portal back through to palace cellar and dclone spawns at fire eye. You can teleport to the other side of the wall and endlessly drop blizzards on dclones head and he can’t hurt you since he’s stuck behind a wall.

I wasn't sure if I could take him down so wanted to be on the safe side as I'm prerunning build which I want to try on HC (and on HC I would kill DC 100% with this trick with soso). Trick is exactly like described by TeenyUncle8 with one addition - best to apply PMH first, like hitting him with Edge bow. I actually run with Nature ring so I bought throwing knives with bonus to AR and used wand with enchant charges (+enchant staff probably even better) so had 15% to hit Diablo, it took few throws.
Then just stay outside the door and drop what you have on his head, I've also used Lower resist charges from wand. He can actually reach you with few things, even his red lightning, my merc died from one and I had to drink like 6 juvs.

Also be aware there might be some deadly unique monster packs around, I got ambushed while dropping blizz on DC by those Udarlike guys and archers with fana both at once and got shredded, on HC I would be mad

Next time I will try face him on Frigid.

frigid is the safest in my opinion only place i spawn him
