I think it definitely comes with the territory. Its like saying Special Forces can't feel/be superior to an average soldier.

If i decided to play SC i would have no room to bash a HC player. It is a superior mode. There is no argument about it. Can HC make fun of SC? Yeah. Can SC say all HC players do is save exit? Sure. Is dueling on HC more consequential? Absolutely. Are SC players better at dueling? Debatable. Are we weird and need to develop a personality? No. We just enjoy the thrill of dying/almost dying. It truly gets the heart going. Would 10/10 recommend if you have mastered the game. And yes it is HEARTBREAKING when you die. Especially if its a server disconnect. RIP.

I would never suggest it IS the special forces of Diablo. Its a metaphor. HC is the harder version of Diablo. Does that suffice for you to wrap your head around? Special Forces IS the harder version of normal military duties. There you just learned what a metaphor is

only thing hard is losing all gear u have the same layout same monsters same char to play so go into with a little more strategy to not die

Which begs the question. When you make a character. Why take the easier route? Afraid you are going to die? HC players take on the extra risk because after playing so long... the game needs that extra level of excitement. It adds value to the gear, the monsters you come into contact and with and your strategy. One mistake and bye bye any fg invested and any gear had. Most of the time we forget to loot eachother, especially towards higher levels and even if u were lootable. Goodbye anni, goodbye torch and any charms you had. Look i think SC is great. Especially for fine tuning dueling. Someone suggested that PVM is more for the HC gamers and i fit into that boat. But there are duelers in HC. And it takes huge balls to step out.

I've played both as well over the years. It's just strange to me that people develop this weird superiority complex about HC when there are very few players that actually know what they are doing on HC. As you stated - I've only ever seen a handful of people that have any idea how to chain lock or C/T cast - basic elements of the game when you are doing PVP on SC.
