Yeah, I'm Curious now. I've never had any trouble finding D Clone. Same place every time. He will spawn once you run into a super unique monster. Did the words "Diablo Walk's The Earth" pop up?

He replaces the super unique (if one exists) in the first area that you are in. So if you were in Frigid when the message popped up, he'll replace Eldritch; if you were in Bloody Foothills, he'll replace Shenk (or Dac Farren, possibly). If you don't remember where you were, you're gonna have a fun time retracing your steps.
