I'm looking to start playing a new MMO and am deciding mainly between this and Guild Wars 2. Anyone wanna give a quick review of this game? Especially would be cool if anyone who's played both games could give their input.

Also considering FFXIV but that's probably 3rd on my list right now.

Guildwars 2 seems dated, its much more casual in that you just jump in play and get rewards. Archeage is a game about investing time and a community, sure you can play casual but the more you play the more you'll achieve. FFXIV is a traditional MMO with a emphasis on raiding whereas the aforementioned games are more about exploring, with archeage focusing most on community and interaction between players.

Im on my 2nd day of playing Archeage (head-start) and ill tell you that there is a metric fuckton of content imo. Might seem a little bit overwhelming at first, but you will get used to it

Archage is more PVP based game and I would highly suggest you sub for Patron, or you going to be disappointed how slow your gearing/progessing vs other players.

GW2 is more PVE based game, with a storyline to follow and choices you make which decides which mission you do next. You do not have to invest in cash shop, most gears you can obtain from grinding dungeons end game. GW2 will keep you more busy than Archage, since GW2 has much more to do.

Honestly, i have played all of the above.. archeage is the only game that has gotten me as hooked as WoW did when it first came out

Archeage is a slightly better aion/warhammer online. Game will be dead just like wildstar and eso in 3-6 months.

Thanks for everyone's advice. I opted to buy Guild Wars 2 and it seems outstanding so far, though I'm sure I'll try ArcheAge once it's released for free play.
