the pvp is fun and pretty much any class can go head to head against another, you just have to outplay the person given the combat system you have at your finger tips. Though tethers are fucking retarded.
Each class is fun both in and out of pvp, and have their strengths and weaknesses in and out of pvp.

the pvp telegraph system is a little shitty though
in huge fights theres just lights and colors fucking everywhere

Lmao I agree with this. Pvp is a little weird, I literally just palm roll my keyboard, since im constantly in an out of some sort of CC just trying to get something out. I feel like this game is better tailored to pve and arenas.

Also can someone explain paths, are they like professions, do they affect pvp?

Well theres pve and pvp servers... bout all that matters, and the enormous queue times on pvp servers.
I'm on caretaker, its pve, and full, but can still get on it in around 5-20 minutes at peak

No they dont effect pvp, and no they are professions (though crafting is fucking sweet in this game)
they're like... a permanent quest log, that has an exp bar and a few handy skills associated with it.

Play on warbringer its got a high pop and almost no que times.

As to the topic, this game is FUCKING AMAZING.

If they are able to market this better and it gets a bigger community the sky's the limit.
