Hey, firstly, I apologise for bringing the horrible English language to your subforum!

I'm going to Valencia in about a months time and I have a few questions from my experiences last year!

Firstly, am I missing something or do you guys not like Cider? I found it impossible to find anywhere that seemed to sell it, I could have been asking for the wrong thing as I was going only by the google translante (sidra)

Secondly, how do you ask someone to move if they're in your way (politely of course)

muchas gracias!

Hey

Concerning the "Cider" , the right term here is, as the google translate tells you, "Sidra" , and you spell it in the same way you read it . Thing is, Spain is a big place, and there are different ways of living depending where you are... The good "Sidra" is to be found in "Asturias", where they have an ancient tradition with this drink.

Besides Asturias, people dont use to drink "Sidra" in a daily basis, since this drink is like champagne and its usually drank when its new year or in a wedding. However, it shouldnt be so difficult for you to find a good bottle of Sidra in Valencia in any suermarket.

I recommend you this one since its one of the most famous Sidras out there :

And secondly, when you ask someone to move if they are on your way you just say "permiso" or " con permiso", thats like "excuse me". If you want to be even more polite you can say something like: "Perdona,¿ me dejas pasar? " what would be translated as : " Excuse me, could you let me pass?

Have a good time in Spain!

Yes you're missing something. Sidra is predominant nant in northern Spain, not in the southern coast.

That being said I'm sure you can find some crappy sidra in any supermarket.
