IntroductionCreating a level 30 lld kicker is by far one of the hardest characters to make because of the versatility of the character. There are numerous gear and skill options, each with its own distinct advantages. This guide will be covering how to begin designing a character you can later customize.
BasicsThere are several ways to increase the damage output of the kicker: strength pumping, venom, crushing blow, open wounds, tiger strike and number of kicks.
Stats/Skills
StatsStrength - 95 or 125 (depends on boot choice)
Dexterity - as much as you need for 75% block
Vitality - the rest
Energy - nothing
SkillsThere are a total of seven skills that may be useful to this character: Tiger Strike, Dragon Talon, Dragon Flight, Burst of Speed, Weapon Block, Fade and Venom.
Tiger StrikeA single point in this skill can raise your kick damage to about 200pvp damage per kick at about 10k-12k ar.

The biggest problem with tiger strike is that it is an interruptable attack. As well, it is (relatively) slow, too. Put one skill point at the most, as this will be a situational skill.
Dragon Talon
Our only attack skill. Every sixth skill level grants another kick to the attack, effectively increasing your damage both through the added kick damage% and the extra kick. Mana is at a premium, so more attacks for the same amount of mana is good.

Aim for 18 or 24 in dragon talon after all of your +skill boosts. A slvl18 dragon talon will net you 6 more dr% because you will be putting the remainder of your skill points into fade, but your attack rating and damage output will suffer.
Dragon Flight
This skill is more of a novelty skill; use it if you plan on dueling casters. one point in this skill is enough because you won't be looking to use this skill to do damage, and this skill is a mana hog.
Burst of Speed
Fade is superior to burst of speed in every way (for the purposes of this build).

One point should be the maximum number you put in, as this skill can easily be "buffed" to slvl5 with your weapon switch, which will be more than enough.
Weapon Block
If you plan to duel casters, think about investing in this skill, as claw/claw against casters is superior to claw/shield.

Fade

This skill is what makes the assassin. After you get dragon talon to the desired slvl, dump the rest of your skill points here.
Venom
With a high enough skill level, venom can add upwards of 30pvp poison damage to each kick. After slvl9, the added poison damage per level increases, so if it is possible to prebuff your venom to such levels, you will see a large damage increase.

7frame fade kicks is what all the cool kids have. There isn't anything wrong with having an 8 frame inital kick, but since getting a 7 frame initial kick is quite easy, there is no reason to be at 8.

You should aim for the 48%fhr (5 frame hit recovery) breakpoint. Any more will contribute to a large life loss.

Because the assassin blocks considerably faster than most attacks, no more than 32%fbr (3 frame block) will ever be needed.
Items
Helm
Peasant Crown - Socketed with a Perfect Ruby or a Shael Rune
Rare Circlet - Look for one with +1 assassin skills or +2 tree (shadow or martial arts). Keep in mind that Peasant Crown gives 60 life and 30 mana when comparing a circlet with the war hat.
Body Armor/Shield
Spirit Shroud/Whistans - Socket the armor with a Perfect Ruby or a Shael Rune, and the shield with a +dex jewel. If you are going for a non-fade build, a Perfect Diamond can help with your resists.
Twitchthroe/'Rhyme' Grim Shield - Socket the armor with a Perfect Ruby or a Shael Rune. Use this only if you need extra ias, as you will lose a socket.
Jewelery
Amulet/Ring - Angelic Wings + Angelic Halo
Ring - Look for a rare ring with mana, attack rating, resists, and stats. If you can't find one, another Angelic Halo will suffice.
Gloves
Magical Gloves - If you can't find rare gloves with +2 martial arts, try to shop a pair. Use a level 53 character to shop gauntlets at NM Anya.
Rare gloves - +skills is the most important thing to look for on your gloves. After that, look for resists, then ias (if needed) then +stats.
Belt
String of Ears - For the purposes of this build, accept no substitutes.
Boots
Goblin Toe Battle Boots - You get more life if you use these (95str vs 125str, 30stats, 90life), as well as damage reduced by 1 and magic damage reduced by 1. The lower damage is somewhat offset by the crushing blow%, but against opponents with less life, more damage (war boots) works out better.
Rare War Boots - Look for faster hit recovery, resists, dexterity, and faster run/walk.
Magical War boots - If you are unlucky with the rares, you can easily shop a pair with resist and fhr%. Larzuk and Anya (nm or hell) are good vendors to shop.
Weapon
Blade Talons - 70ias blade talons will make the other kickers fear you. Shop Anya for ANY Blade Talons of Swiftness, get two sockets, and 'ShaelShael' it. After that is done, spend some time shopping for a Magekiller's or Sensei's Blade Talons of Swiftness with a level 45 character. 40 or 50ias on your claw won't hurt the build too much, but you would need to use a Twitchthroe in both cases and 10ias gloves with 40ias.
Use a level 40 character to shop 30ias blade talons, and a 45 character to shop (in NM or Hell only) +skill blade talons.
Other
Weapon Switch - 2x Psychic Blade Talons
Charms - Because the majority of your stat points are in strength, you are primarily looking for life on your charms. Other things to look for are attack rating, resists, mana, faster hit recovery, and defense.
A beginner setup which is extremely easy to do would be:

Final Words
There isn't really much more to say. After creating the kicker, using the kicker, and thinking about the kicker, different ideas will "come" to you, which is what I'm aiming for. Make the character because you like it, and because you want to develop it, not because its so damn cool. There are just so many ways to make the kicker, so there is no point in stopping now; expand on your ideas and make something that works well.
