Pep will go the way of Hazard.
We all know he wants to come here, we all know we could easily get him, but he’ll end up at Chelsea and we’ll be stuck with that dithering, tactically inept stain whilst we watch Pep win things backed by a strong board who want to win and spend.
If I’m Gazidis I know my reputation is on the line, I know I’m hated.
I’d invite Red and White to the board, providing Usmanov can bring £50 Million per year in investment e.g from Megafon/Metalloinvest/Gazprom/Twitter/Facebook whoever.
I’d retire PHW on medical grounds, nice easy way for him to slink into the darkness of history.
I’d appoint David Dein as Chairman so R & W have their man on the board, Gazidis is still Kroenke mans and so is Fox.
Get Pep in, having heard that I’d have been in New York as soon as the AST meet was over.
Tell him he’s got a £150 Million budget to do with what he wants, plus with new commercials (Emirates, Kit) and what Usmanov can bring (let’s say £50 Million in commercials) he’ll have a £100 Million every season or there abouts to spend on freshening the squad.
We go from being laughingstock to the most powerful club in the country.
City’s Billions would count for shit when you have a large pile of money every year, a talented, driven, hungry manager and aggressive businessmen on the board and a out and out football man and negotiator for a chairman.
I’d take that over Mansour or Roman any day.
Never happen. But that’s my dream
