I don't know if I explained myself correctly, but something similar happened to me, and I didn't see the console or friends or anything. I had to reset the console again (I think in the config) and it worked for me

seems like you did the same thing as me :P , for some reason pulled the window (just like console ) out of the window, so i had to change the placement where (in the window) it would be opened in the cfg file ....
took me 2 months to figure out :P

if you havent fixet it yet , go under your cfg file and scroll down to till you find overlay / console and change the placement .
