i mean, how difficult would it be to make a "login through steam" plugin for your browser that checks your inventory to confirm trades, but doesn't use API key...
as most of their drop pages say, theyre working on something to get past this... not to mention, theres always an, albeit tiny, chance that steam can rollback this decision if there is enough pushback / complaints.
but to your point of the 2k max on steam, maybe theyre going to increase it again - it used to be 600 or 800 right?

Steam has never pushed back updates tho, thats so rare it has barely happened in the history of existence they will modify it probably , killing a billion dollar money printer would be A horrible decision

i dont see it as them killing a billion dollar industry tho, they are trying to regain control of it i think, and force people to use steam market for the majority of deals...
for it to be their billion dollar printer, they dont just want the money from keys and the normies using steam market, they want it all... they dont get anything from 3rd party transactions, and since it is as you said billion dollar industry, they want a slice of the pie that they already passed out. (not unlike the usa and how we're taxed at every opportunity lol)

you're right though, its nearly unheard of to push back an update, but not completely impossible. thats moreso why i figure there will be workarounds found sooner than later, cuz the website owners aren't going to want to wait for steam to decide whether or not to roll it back

The entire economy is based on the third part transactions and such tho .. cutting of everything just makes people leave cs behind if it gets to complicated , imagine never being able to sell ur dlore for more then 2k .. and if that aspect happens in full, the entire market goes into death fall

i 100% get your point there, but that could just push more people to do direct p2p deals, or they could increase steam market limit like theyve done in the past for very similar reasons

If they kill of the bots 70% of the skins in circulation will Vanish, so it could have major implications that is positive for us normies aswell, most likely work arrounds will be found like you say and we will barely know anything happened

If you look through the history of their max 2K on steam there are legislation laws placed on them and why they are force to do 2K max. Sure they can appeal and push for a higher limit but being able to trade a 1.5m blue gem will never happen and still destroy the market if even the cap was 100K

if i were buying a $1.5m blue gem, then paying $5000 round trip to fly to the seller and do an in-person deal should not be off the table lol
