I just bought an Xbox 360 to play Halo series. I asked the seller to know which halo game was the best to start to play solo and multi.

He recommanded to me to start with Halo Reach.. I just started campain and want to wait a few before starting to play online.

My question is : Are there much players who still play Halo Reach online or should i buy Halo 4 now to find other opponents ?

I would like to start playing online with Halo Reach because Halo 4 is still expensive in stores.

Every game has a different multiplayer so I wouldn't bother with Reach online at this point. It's still worth beating all the campaigns I guess. Buy Halo 4 off amazon or newegg definitely cheaper there.

Play the MLG playlist in reach, still somewhat populated.
