Unlocking/ranking is really confusing me atm, somebody explain?

Also, are there commendations or anything to that affect? How do I see em? I scrolled through every single menu and am still baffled

When on H4, press Start to open up the spartan hub, scroll to Career (very top) and 2nd thing there is a big box that says "COMMENDATIONS"

Will look tomorrow when I get on thanks, might help me out a bit as far as understanding how the system is atm. I find the In game screen very cluttered with achievements and challenges and the like to the point wher I don't know what I'm getting. I wish there was stuff saying how to get this or that (such as wheelman assists and stuff like that)

oh there it is... and it's very simple, and easy to do at any point on the game.
