At any given time there is less than 2000 people in the MLG playlist. With a 1-50 ranking system it would make finding a game just that much harder.

MLG is not Reach. Your statement is useless anyway considering the OP's point is that the population of Reach would increase with a different ranking system. If the population increase, finding games would be easier. I would play more Reach and Reach MLG with a new ranking system, considering an internal ranking system is about as competitive as I get with any video game.
