So, it's been about three years since I got a new laptop. My current one, an Asus UL50VT is going downhill from general wear and tear. The LCD is going bad, cracks in the frame, webcam is broken, dvd drive is funky, mouse pad isn't as responsive as it should be, and the computer is getting a little bit slower.

Honestly, it's been about three years since I even knew anything about computer technology. Prices are all whack now. If anything, can someone list general specs I should be looking for? I just don't remember.

Intel Core 2 Duo is still good? No idea what this I3,5,7 stuff is.

Can anyone help me find a decent laptop that will do all the general stuff and be able to play D3 when it comes out? Preferably ASUS as this laptop was sick while it lasted, and my price range is $500-$1,000.

This looks ideal, but the graphics card is crud:

If you post in the computer building and discussion forum with your wants (general use and play D3) as well as a price range, they will build ya a computer/find you a laptop that fits your specs. Look on newegg or tigerdirect for some good deals.
