great hit-registration and being good to play online? Hit-registration on LAN is great(Though there are still quite a few blood shots...), but online play is almost as bad as H3. Bungie's host picker is just as bad, hit-registration is almost as bad, kill trading is fucking annoying as hell, etc. I stopped playing H3 predominately because of the connection issues, but Reach is only slightly better :/ So many people tell me something along the lines of "I like H3 more, but I switched to Reach because it has a better connection," but when I play with those same people, they constantly bitch about all of the retarded latency issues.

tl;dr: Why isn't every developer using dedicated servers?

Because with the servers it makes it playable even if you are lagging somewhat. Because it gives you pretty good registration where you fired even if your bullet comes out slower/later. In h3 with the lag with BRs you would missed 2 of 3 in the burst cuz the lag on moving targets was horrible. With the single shot Dmr/Pistol and better servers it make it playable even if there is lag.

A laggy host on Reach is much worse than one on H3. If a Reach host isn't perfect, the game becomes unplayable; the game can't adjust to the lag and just makes everyone stall for like 3 seconds at a time and teleports them at random(I dunno how to describe it, but it's fucking ridiculous). In H3, a bad host just means a few shots miss. Also, the host on Reach seems to switch about 10x as often as H3's host. The game just goes black screen randomly and for seemingly no reason, and sometimes when it switches the host is even worse.

Well I haven't had many connection issues other than rare bullet lag as I listed above, maybe I'm lucky.

The world isn't perfect but if my 3G network phone can get a great signal while I'm camping and work 100% fine, xbl should not have these problems.
