I am a casual Call of Duty player and have never owned a Halo.
I am looking for a game i can just hope on once or twice a week to have fun when im getting pissed @ Black ops

What are your opinions on the game?
Is there a better Halo in the series?

I enjoy it.

The only half-decent playlist in Reach is MLG, and even that sucks. The rest of them are either full of bullshit or way too slow-paced for my liking. I wouldn't buy it, just wait for the CE remake. You'd probably like Reach since you're a casual gamer, but for someone that enjoys competitiveness, Reach is terrible for me.

halo 2 was nice, halo 3 was alright..

Reach is absolutely garbage, if there was a word to describe it worse than "garbage, I'd use it.

Having never owned a Halo before, you probably won't have any expectations of Reach and will probably enjoy it. Reach has the most options for the casual gamer (i.e. playlists, firefight, campaign) of all the halo series. Most of my complaints about Reach (mainly the spawn system) won't really be an issue if you're just playing casually; I actually like the bloom aspect and it shouldn't take you long to get used to it.

All in all, Bungie made Reach for casual gamers like you, and did a pretty good job of it. In doing so, they screwed over people who like to play seriously (like most of the Halo subforum) so it gets bad ratings around here. I'd recommend it, as it should be fun for you and won't be going away any time soon.

This is the most accurate answer you'll get. I only play Reach because it's all my friends play. I never play by myself and can't usually handle more than a few games in one sitting
