Need your help.

So my college internet sucks. I'm interested in replacing it but have no idea how or what to do. I used to configure my home's network all the time, but never actually set one up and paid for it myself.

So, how/ where do I start...? Would it need to be cellular... My parents have a family plan that I'm on so I would have to start my own cell plan for that option I think.

What are your thoughts?

You in an apartment? Dorm? Typically an apartment leasing office can tell you what internet providers are available, then you can call them and ask them about their high-speed internet options. Pick whichever one you like, based on what you're willing to pay.

Im confused...
You want to have your own ISP at your school?
Netoworks dont have to be connected to the internet(you dont need to pay for a network you need to pay a ISP)
By cellular do you mean like 3/4g on a smart phone?

Thoughts:
1. Try ethernet first (wireless at my school suchs dick but ethernet is ok)
2. Call IT and bitch at them.

Options 1 and 2 have failed.

I want to get my own internet connection. I don't know how considering where I am and what I already have, so I'm asking you guys.

:(

I agree with loadstone call up housing and ask them which ISPs are available then fron that list pick 1. Not the best option but seems like the only thing left.

If they let you pay for your own internet service, ask them what's available. You should have some sort of computing help desk, they can probably tell you. I've never stayed in campus apartments before so I'm not familiar with their policies, but if they allow it then follow my first post; if not then you don't really have any options.
