A friend sent me a code on xbox, but it was bought in canada. Everytime i try to redeem code, it notices that it is a three month but it doesn't want to redeem it.
It says error message: 54656 a bunch of random numbers:

This happened to a friend one time when i made an account for him. If you have a Canadian account, you can't put microsoft points purchased in the states onto that account. This is also the case in reverse (like yours is).
