I wasn't actually around for the H3 patch, so I was just going off what I've heard from people a year after the fact.
It isn't hard to adapt to Reach, it's not THAT different from any other game, but again, it doesn't make the game good. As soon as a game comes out that dwarfs Reach's competitiveness(Which has already happened: SC2), they'll abandon Reach as the flagship game and move on to something better. It would be a different story if people actually enjoyed Reach, but so many people, competitive and non-competitive players both, hate the game, so they obviously aren't going to watch/participate in MLG events. I'm sure I've already said this, but the only reason Halo 3 stayed the flagship game for so long was the large amount of people it brought to MLG.
I don't know about recently, but a month or two after Reach came out, when I was active in the MLG community, the vast majority of pros hated the game. The most prominent example is Enable, who said something along the lines of "The game fucking sucks." Even the pros who didn't want to bash MLG's new flagship game had masked critiques.
i think your missing the point that shmazoo is a actual pro of which you speak
and thus would know infinitely more about such matters than I X Panic X Irandofaggot
