Considering the PS3 has one of the best blue ray players available, doesn't fuck up your disks when the system moves/is knocked over, has built in Wifi, and a bigger hard drive than the xbox's you're looking at on Craigslist, it's no real wonder they're more expensive. The Xbox is a gaming system. The PS3 is a home entertainment system. I don't even want to think about comparing Red Ringed Xbox's to Orange/Yellow Ringed PS3s either. It's no contest that the Xbox is easily the shittier system. And yet, I find myself playing it much more than the PS3.
compare the quality of similar priced consoles now...
300$ ps3 vs 300$360
hardrives
ps3=120 360=250(some people may not need the 130 more gigs of hdd...not really a big deal) xbox can get this one as the hdd is bigger...even if it wont be utilized.
wireless capabilities
ps3- B and G i believe? 360=B/G/N...once again.something that not everyone is interested in...a lot of people use wired internet, and then there is a large group who couldnt give a shit about wireless N...but still xbox would get it, because it's there
Media type-
ps3=bluray, 360=dvd and dual layer dvd(i personally dont even see real noticeable differences between bluray and DVDs...i'd never buy a bluray disc aside from the storage capabilities...but they are very expensive for blank ones.) so yea ps3 gets that one because it can do bluray...but once again something that a lot of people care about and a lot of people could care less)
resolution:
ps3=1080p...360 from what i have heard does not completely utilize 1080p even though it's a display option...once again, something thats completely opinionated as to how useful it is...i'd have no use for full hd but if its there good for it so ps3 gets it.
the list could really go on...the systems are reasonably equal...
and the fact that the ps3 plays blurays does not give it that much edge over a 360 to title it a home entertainment system and the 360 a gaming system...
the 360 can stream bluray videos, just cant have em in the disc drive. the 360 has a web browser, you just cant be completely retarded to figure out how to set it up, the 360 does literally everything the ps3 does as far as media goes aside from bluray discs and displaying 1080p to it's max potential
