also as stated in my edit..there was no price raise with all the stuff that came out around NXE and after...so i think 10 dollars after all these updates is reasonable

I think xbox live should be free anyway, we pay like 60$ a year for nothing.

if you think about it... it has been 50 $ for what a couple years now? everything has gone up in price... so i can see why they need to make the price increase.

supposedly soon they are gonna make games either 65 or 70 dollars also.



we pay 50$ dollars a year for better servers.

n64 release price was what 250-300$? no online service, ps1 i believe was 300$, sega dreamcast was 200 i believe...and ofc the older systems...

they didnt have online service, but cost just as much as a 360...

you're paying for the ability to watch netflix, play games with your friends over the internet so you can play with friends who dont live in your house...

if you wanted to play games with a friend in another area of w/e country you are in, would cost you a decent chunk of gas money no? well now you can game with them and not have to drive..

two completely different things...like comparing a library to netflix

not saying the library is better or worse(just cuz ps3 = free) but it might be lacking some major things that people who have netflix might want
but at the same time there are going to be people who want to go to the library because netflix seems like a waste of money to them because they dont care about the features

xbox live should be free. im not complaining about the price. 60 bucks a year is fuck all for the time i invest into xbl. a trip to the movies with a date is like 30 bucks, because of inflated prices of pop corn, etc. and that only lasts an hour and a half. granted, the end results are worth it but none the less, theres no real reason we should be paying for xbl. also, on your dream cast argument prior, dream cast actually had online capablites, and they were free too. fairly sure Wii is free online too.

wii is free but the online play is pretty bad.

Purely judging this on MW2, but I've played MW2 on PS3 and Xbox 360 (I have it for both, and both systems.) and the online is not different at all. We're paying 60 bucks a year so we can send each other voice messages, and be in party chat. On top of the fact that we're paying already, we have the dashboard filled with advertisements. I don't know if you know this, but with a LOT of sites/programs/etc, once you're a paying subscriber you don't see ads anymore.
