It doesn't punish the player enough. If you're dicking around across the map, you shouldn't be able to get to where you need to be in 8 seconds, it should take 20+ seconds. Sprint makes it so it's nearly impossible to be out of position and just punishes the good players and rewards the shitty ones.

Good players can deal with sprint.

But it's stupid easy to kill kids sprinting around. Not to mention most of them don't have the reaction time to shoot back midsprit or get their bearing straight in time to shoot as the stop sprinting.

It's not like Sprint's going to be taken out of Reach at this point, so there's no reason to complain about it.. Just adapt and rape the kenyan spartans!

I agree, though Panic is talking about MLG settings where Sprint already has been taken out.

If everyone has the loadout then no one is disadvantaged. In my opinion, it adds to the game.

And you're clearly not good enough to realize that "dealing with sprint" is completely irrelevant. I can deal with assault rifles just fine, but the AR will never be in competitive gametypes because it doesn't fit into the competitive mold. The purpose of MLG(And other competitive settings) is to create a game that is fast-paced, balanced, and dependent on skill. Part of making the game balanced is punishing those who make mistakes, which is why sprint and bloom are no longer in MLG settings. Neither of them punished the bad player enough. With sprint, if you got caught in the middle of nowhere, you could almost always sprint away and recharge your shields. With bloom, if you get out-positioned and your opponent has a 2 shot lead on you, you can just spam your shots and have a pretty decent chance of winning the exchange(Or, at the very least, do a lot more damage than you should have done had there been no bloom).

Why can nobody comprehend the concept of "competitive and balanced gameplay"? Who gives a flying fuck if you can kill shitty players using shitty settings? In competitive play, you're going to be facing players that are roughly the same skill level as you are, not random kids on XBL. In H3, I could regularly close-range out-br kids that are spraying me with an AR, does this mean that the AR should now be in MLG?

Let's look at the pros and cons of sprint:

Pros: You can get across the, admittedly, large maps faster.

Cons: It slows actual gameplay down a ton because, if your opponent is losing the fight, they can just hit X and nearly always survive.
It fucks with your hitboxes.
It's extremely unbalanced in CTF. If you exterminate the enemy team, it's nearly always a flag cap because you can run the flag across any map way too quickly.
It doesn't punish retarded positioning enough, as I've said a few times already.

You can't /end a thread on a retarded point. The person running away has a huge, huge advantage. More than likely, even if the person chasing sprints and chases really hard, the person retreating will be able to find ample cover. Also, if you chase the guy running away, you just put yourself in a position to get yourself killed. It's a get out of jail free card that comes up every 5 seconds, it punishes bad players who chase(Which is fine, but it's not exactly balanced in that way), and it just slows gameplay down tremendously in high-skilled+balanced games.

If you take out sprint, you have to take out evade. Evade is ridiculously OP now more than ever.

It's now a power-up on the map that can be fought for and controlled by the better team, there's nothing wrong with that imo.

Your arguing that sprint in regular game's should be removed for a competitive standpoint, It's already been removed from MLG, and it remain's in TS just as your opinion suggest's

Am I failing to see a argument or debate here?
