No idea.
I was thinking the Nikon d3100.
I was gonna pick up the 7D but it was sold out when I went to bestbuy

Nah, stick to Canon

Honestly, for a starting camera either get the 450D, T1i, or T2i.
The T1i is like $800, which is roughly how much my 450D was when I bought it 2+ years ago.
The T1i has 14.x megapixels [450D has 12.2], AND video.
But don't just look at megapixels, it's not everything when it comes to pictures.
A 400D with 10 megapixels can take just as nice of pictures if you know how to use the settings.
But I'd recommend a T1i.
Nice megapixels, nice features, and has video.
I was thinking about selling my camera and buying it, but I'm switching my major to Photography and I'd like to hold onto the first camera I ever bought.
So I'm going to buy a T1i or probably a T2i sometime in the near future, hopefully.
