How would this occur?
I just appear in court dressed, and plead guilty? lol..
The ticket didn't tell me why the ticket cost so much.
Just call the courthouse, it'll take all of 5-10 minutes and you'd have an idea of what your options are. But no, you don't show up to the courthouse to plead guilty, you contest it and hope the cop doesn't show (probably 50-50 odds, depending on the area) so you get off free.
If you really weren't in a construction zone or anything, then chances are it's 2 different violations combined (like speeding and illegal lane changing or something), but I can't imagine why they'd be combined into one ticket. It should be 2 different tickets (same amount, but at least they would fall under minor traffic violations that you don't have to report). Like I said, call them. Also check your state's traffic laws about maximum fine for speeding in your situation.
This'll take some time to figure out, but if you can reduce it by $150 or $200 in 3 hours work, that's like doing a 3-hour job at $50-67/hour, worth it imo.
