I'll admit I was too young to even remember much about Halo CE and haven't played it in many many years. But my ranking would put H2 > CE > Reach > 3.
And Aven you should just stop trying to win; Brandon's not only clearly smarter and better at flame wars but he's also got the entire Halo series behind him (;))
And that's perfectly fine, as anyone can like any game that they want. However, it makes no sense to have "groundbreaking" in any part of your reasoning for why Halo 2 was better than Halo CE. In terms of new features and details, Halo 2 introduced little in terms of new "stuff", and most of what it did release is widely accepted as being garbage, especially in the sense of multiplayer enjoyment, which the OP seems so keen on centering his argument around.
Better gameplay? More fun to play? Better maps? Cooler guns? It's all subjective, and you can draw whatever conclusion you so desire. However, it was Halo: CE that laid the groundwork for the rest of the Halo Series and for new-age console FPS games in general, and should never be included in reasons why Halo 2 > Halo: CE.
